Indian ITI to Start Manufacturing 3G Equipment in 2006

A recent report by the Hindu Business Line stated that the Indian company ITI plans to start manufacturing 3G equipment in 2006 at its plants in Mankapur and Rae Bareli, becoming the first Indian company to do so. Combined production capacity of the two plants is expected to reach ten million lines. The report stated that ITI has already received orders from BSNL and MTNL, for three million and two million lines respectively.
